Can I live a normal life with an ostomy?
My answer is a big “Yes!”, and I say that from experience!
You can work, travel, go back to school, swim, surf, run, and even skydive, with an ostomy. Of course, some of this depends on your recovery from your underlying sickness and obtaining your doctor’s approval. I know many people with ostomies who are fashion models, weightlifters, surfers, marathoners, yoga instructors, construction workers, race car drivers, police officers, and CEOs- they live full and active lives with an ostomy and you can too!
The Ostomy 101 App is designed to help you live a fuller and more active lifestyle by connecting you will the tools, resources, information, and education you need to live successfully with an ostomy.
